Actually, when I was looking through the Superfine Bakery blog over coffee this morning, I'd emailed myself the link to a totally different cake altogether. But I'd got this stamp out about two days ago to use for a card, and realised that it would work very well with this gorgeous cake.
A2 base is a soft gold pearlescent card. Matt layers are just white card sponged with Broken China and Bundled Sage.
IO image stamped on watercolour paper with Versafine Black and coloured with distress inks. I also added some Perfect Pearls Green Patina to some of the leaves, so they shimmer in the light. I enjoyed painting all the leaves - we may have daffodils and cherry blossom a-plenty, but all the trees are still bare.
I added Canteloupe Liquid Pearls to finish it off.
I enjoyed that blog, even though it wasn't very easily searchable. The Dobos Torte reminded me of one I'd made for a 21st, and I was sorry only to see mention of a croquembouche and not a picture, as that was what my sister had for one of her two wedding cakes - I decorated the other one.
