I wasn't sure I'd get to make a card for today's challenge - the marmalade oranges are in season here and I spent the afternoon squeezing and chopping. AND, I couldn't find the roll of lovely fine twine that I just bought, either for tying my muslin together with the pips inside OR for using on my card.
For a time-saver I used an image I've been colouring and working on for a couple of days - the challenge gave me a good way to frame it and keep it masculine looking, DH approves . Just as well, he'll probably be the one sending this.
Stampalicious image stamped on Bristol Board with Versafine black and coloured with distress inks. In honour of DH's new red bike (came up for the sale the day his insurance cheque arrived after he was knocked off his bike before Christmas) I used red on this, and added Glossy Accents. Masked the bike, stamped the sign, masked it off and sponged the background. I used a gel pen to add white dots to the bandana.
It's layered onto black card. Being tight with my fancy twine when I couldn't find the plain, I didn't want to waste the amount that you do if you thread it just through the eyelets, so I used a Fiskars eyelet-setter to cut a little notch half-way round each side, and used two colours of twine. OK, so you don't get a square, but you do use less twine .
Sentiment cut with SU Round Tab punch and edged with red ink.
