I am a recent Pinterest junkie and was inspired by a similar workspace by Amanda's recent reveal of her new crafty workspace over onThe Ivy Cottage.
I didn't have the exact same shelves as she displays, but I had a boatload of storabe cubes that I had given serious consideration of selling.
As a result of Amanda's new table, I decided to redefine how I use the cubes.
Amanda also generously provided a tutorial of how to make your own ginormous table. It's really scalable though. Amanda used 2 doors to form her work surface. So you really could use just one. I've been using doors for years.
For this redo, however, I chose to use a 4' x 8' sheet of 5/8" plywood. I took it over to my father in laws where he added arborite. He found a buddy who had a single sheet that would fit my wood, but we didn't know what colour it would be. Lucky me! It's all perfectly matchy matchy with my space! How awesome is that?
Anyways, we brought it back to my she cave and I spent an hour and a half on my hands and knees lining up the cubes so they fit nice around the perimeter of my board. Then I made a frame that's hidden underneath that would allow me to add a bulkier finish. A little paint and a little laquer, and we're good to go. I'm so lovin' it!
Thanks for lookin'!
