I wanted to try a new technique for me - acrylic paint resist. This is one of the cards I used it on.
CARD (5.5” tall x 4.25” wide)
Front Image: Snow covered evergreen trees
Front Sentiment: “JOY” & "NOEL"
Inside Sentiment: “Happy Holidays”
I constructed the base card from cranberry red cardstock and scored it at the top so that my embossed tree Christmas card opens vertically from the bottom. For the Christmas scene on the front of my card I stamped the snow covered evergreens with acrylic paint on white cardstock and then blended pale pink and cranberry red inks over the entire surface. I matted the completed scene with pale pink cardstock.
To add a little glitz to the front panel of my Christmas card I adorned it with a shimmering organdy ribbon. As a finishing touch I embossed the words "JOY" & "NOEL" in gold on ornament shaped tags created from cranberry red and pale pink cardstocks. I attached them to the front card panel with a bow.
For the inside card panel I printed "Happy Holidays" on white cardstock in cranberry red colored ink. I matted the panel with pale pink cardstock and decorated it with a layered strips of cranberry red and pale pink cardstocks.
I also handmade an envelope from heavy cover stock to compliment my card. I decorated the lower left corner with a pair of stamped evergreen trees above the word "JOY" I penned in shimmering gold ink.
