This is my rendition of "January" for Joyce's ATC calendar (each ATC had to include an inchie on it).
I started with a digital image of a wintry scene that I desaturated and printed in greyscale on tissue paper. Then, I inked a background of watercolor paper with some various shades of blue Distress Ink and stamped some text on it, as well. I used gel medium to adhere the tissue paper photo on top and then added some glittery Stickles just for fun. I used a palette knife to add another thicker layer of gel medium on top of that.
For the inchie, I cut 2 one-inch squares of mica, stamped on them with Staz-On and adhered them with Glossy Accents. I used tiny little jewel embellishments in between the layers to separate them...it's hard to tell in the picture, but the effect is rather shadow-boxy.
The calendar is printed on vellum.

Oh yes, the transparent Queen has struck again. Fantastic job on a true wintery scene. Thanks for taking us through each step. I love that inchie. I want to touch it to take it all in.

As a whole, this is beautiful and a little spooky and very effective. BUT...I have to say your background totally steals the show here. It's absolutely stunning. I love the idea of printing directly onto the tissue.
