I'm finally getting around to uploading some older cards that I posted on my blog--sorry for the delay! Here's what I posted about this one at the time:
Here's a card created for the JustRite Friday Challenge #052: Color and Inspiration. I chose three out of the four suggested colors: buttercup yellow, Spring green, and violet blue (the photo came out a bit brighter than the card in real life). I can't seem to get my head around more than three colors at a time! The JustRite sets Vintage Oval Labels and Fancy Frames (sentiment) were used, along with Spellbinders Label Six and Petite Ovals dies. Alcohol markers (Dick Blick Light Maize, Green Tomato, and Periwinkle) were used to color in the image, and add the border around the sentiment.
I wanted a doily but the budget does not allow for custom doily dies, so the one here was made by cutting a piece of white laser paper with the largest Label Six die, then punching around it with a Martha Stewart corner punch.
Some cutting with a craft knife was added to make some of the exposed solid parts look like doily. Then the whole thing was colored with marker to match the rest of the piece. Other finishing touches added were: narrow yellow ribbon, tiny pearls painted with marker to match, background paper from DCWV Cafe Mediterranean collection, background cardstock from Stampin Up (Ballet Blue).
