Our Timeless Tuesday Challenge over at Flourishes this week is to use a tree or leaf image NOT FLOWERS. After I got this all finished I realized I kind of did use a flower with the standard rose.
My goal here was to create a warm red and gold toned card. The photo doesn't look as good as the real thing. After I completed the trees I masked them off and spritzed the image panel in a metallic gold spray which doesn't show (looks like muddy taupe!). The die cut corners came out a horrible yellow gold in the photo.
I tried using frisket on the stamped images. I use it often on watercolour paper but on cardstock it peels off a bit of paper fibre. Next time I'd colour after I used the frisket but it sure is easier than cutting out a mask. The velvet rose is hand rolled.

Elizabeth,
The topiaries are beautiful (and colored perfectly). The colors in the DP are lovely and pull in the colors of your images. Your rolled rose is gorgeous on the beautiful ribbon. As always, your card is both beautiful and elegant!!
