I don't have many Halloween type stamps, and I've been wanting to try these oval punch pumpkins for a long time now, so I decided on making a new punch art version of this Fall Whimsy card I made a few years ago:
I ran the Pumpkin Pie cardstock through the distressed texture plate and punched out the ovals for the two larger pumpkins. The small one had to first be cut out with the nestabilities oval die and then embossed with the texture plate. The edges of the pumpkins are shaded with a sponge dauber and Pumpkin Pie ink. Lots of dimensionals are used on the pumpkin layers.
I just love the different facial expressions you can get by playing around with punch shapes. As before, I used heart punches (for the bat too), diamond, star, rectangle, circles, and squares. Their curly stems/hair are various pieces of the Sizzix corner flourish die.
The top of the Lavender Lace sky is brayered with Lovely Lilac and Concord Crush. I added the moon before running it through the swirly embossing folder.
I brayered Basic Gray ink on the grassy texture plate before putting through the Big Kick. I just have to remember to wash off the plate and embossing pads afterwards.
This is a fiddly but really fun card to make, and I love how it turned out. Once I got an assembly line going, I made seven of them.
