I finally got a chance to play with StampinÂ’ UpÂ’s new Hanukkah Stamp! I have to say that I didnÂ’t particular like the way they hung the stars and dreidels off of the letters. It made them look a little too much like ornaments, if you know what I mean. Since I was using markers in different colors to ink up my stamp, I simply didnÂ’t color the strings.

Glad to see some ideas using Hanukkah themes. I see what you mean about the ornament look. Perhaps the designer doesn't understand the holiday beyond the secular notions.

I bought this stamp expressly to make some cards for a coworker (I'm not Jewish and a little nervous if I'm doing things correctly) to celebrate the holiday with her. Glad I saw your comment about the strings & will keep that in mind when making the cards for her.

Thanks for your comments about the stamp. I bought it to make a card for a best friend who is Jewish, and am glad to have a good idea of how to use it. Janet is always very appreciative of the cards I make and I never know if I've gotten them "right." So I may just CASE your card just like it is! Beautiful design.
I also appreciate your blog comment about the letters being in order! I had been thinking about scattering the stars and dreidels around but now I'll keep the letters in order when I do that!

Great idea to leave off the strings. I agree, it does look a little too much like ornaments. This looks great.
