This card is for my niece Amy. She has become the family's archivist. She's very interested in prior generations and how we got here and what our family was like. For Christmas last year she made a photo book through Snapfish that included many photographs from the Minnesota side of our family. She did research at the county courthouse and uncovered photos and articles, many of which I had never seen. We were thrilled to receive it...what a treasure! One of my favorite photos from the book was one of my grandparents circa 1920 on the beach in their bathing suits! My grandpa was in a tank top and long shorts and was wearing socks with garters!!! He had his arm around my grandma...it's funny and sweet all at the same time. I made a copy of that picture and have it here in my stamping room. It provided me a "picture" of my grandparents that I had never known...for that alone I thank Amy.

Fabulous card! Someone in my husband's family did that same thing and then someone else wrote a book about the family. Of course, it went back to Ireland to where my husband's ancestry was traced. Aren't we so thankful for people like Amy?

Family history is so interesting. My grandmother married when she was 18 and Granddad was 60, and they had 3 children! There's a lot of history behind that one alone! = ) Anyhow, your card is perfect for your niece, and I'm sure she will treasure it! Great job!

How wonderful!! What a handsome collage for Amy the archivist!! She will treasure your appreciation of her efforts. What a wonderful way to show it. Looks like you could have pulled this beauty from the archives too. Such a warm vintage look. Love the pin/clip with the tag and charm.

So glad to know you have a treasured picture of your G'parents that you never knew. Finding "lost" family is so exciting. My late husband used to work in a geneology library, helping people discover their ancestry. He said it was oftentimes very challenging, and frustrating, too. How thoughtful of you to make this wonderful card to commend and thank Amy for her endeavors!
