What a fabulous challenge! I saw Beate's Petal Card Tutorial and loved it, but today Holly gave me the incentive to actually try it. I highly recommend it! My card got a tad complicated because I had all this dp out and geez, I guess I felt like I had to use it all, lol. So this has lots of layers.
This Garden collection dp is now one of my faves. I guess I'm a red/green kinda gal and I love the contrast and pattern. For the base of my petal card I used the Spellbinders Blossom 3 (the largest) die. I topped it w/ halves of a Quickutz flower die out of the dp, then a lacy circle (yeah, I know. lots of layers, but they look so pretty when the belly band is off).
On the inside I layered a largest scallop square out of dp then a couple of labels 18 w/ my sentiment on top and a cut out little image. The belly band has a scallop edge and my main image done in an out of the box Nestie technique and a couple more layers. The image is paper pieced out of the different dps. The folded card measures 4.25 square.
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.

OMG, Julie, I didn't notice that the more current cards were after the tutorial and DD photo. I've never seen that happen b/fore. Whew, I knew you had to be out there somewhere. Your card is gorgeous as always. I love the petal card and the out-of-the box technique. Your colors are so bright and cheerful. I'm SO relieved to find out you are still out and about! Take care!

I love your red and green combo, Julie, such happy papers! Whew, you really were ambitious with all those layers but it is just gorgeous. Your garden tools make me a bit sad knowing that mine will be put away soon!
