I had this idea in my head for the Ways to Use it #338 challenge (use paint) since last Thursday, but I had to cheat a bit since I don't have time to get the black paint I had in mind for the trees or to actually do the trees. Hope that's ok! What I wanted to do was try a technique I remember waaay back from Grade 1, where we put a blob of paint on some paper, and used a straw to blow the paint up the paper into a tree shape. It looked a lot like the trees on this stamp. At least I did manage to use some reinkers as paint with a brayer! I was in a bit of a rush to get this made while my boys were having their naps, so I didn't wait for the backgroung to dry completely before I stamped the trees- so the trees look a bit faded. Oops! I'll remember that for next time.

It is beautiful in its simplicity. I am going to copy it, including stamping the trees before the inked background is dry.
I am really thinking about the blowing ink through the straw technique too, which I used many times when teaching little ones.
