Our Christmas challenge over at Flourishes is an inspirational photograph. As soon as I saw the photo I focused on the fireplace and thought of Flourishes stockings. I stamped the stockings and they didn't look right hanging out there in limbo, they needed a fireplace like the photo. A little bit of carpentry 101 and voila - a fireplace. I cut out the fireplace shape and popped it up then used a Dreamweavers stencil to make the columns and also popped them up. The garland is from Flourishes Christmas teacups stamp. I cut the stockings apart, paper pieced them, used cotton batten for the fur trim, flock for the red ball trim on one, coloured them all with copics, and added a bit of red stickles to the holly.
I've been making 5 of all the Christmas challenges but this card took a long time so it's a one of and is for my Mom. She saves all the Christmas cards I've made her and puts them on her tree as decorations.

Elizabeth,
This is just gorgeous and there is so much work in just coloring the tiny items in the stockings (and your coloring is wonderful) Your pretty ribbon and garland supporting the stockings is lovely and your fireplace - a masterpiece! You have "art" running through your veins - and your Mom will be so pleased with this card. Your Mom putting your cards on the tree is a fun tradition!
