This is a towel cake I made for my daughter who got married in February. Her colors were raspberry, white and ivory. The flowers on this cake were cut using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. The paper I used was Canson paper. These cakes are a lot of fun to make. I embroider a cake topper that can later be used as a Christmas ornament once the cake is disassembled. Two bath towels form the bottom layer, two hand towels are the middle layer and the two face cloths are the top layer. Everything is just pinned together with corsage pins. Both of my daughters are hesitant to take their cakes apart as they enjoy looking at them! I usually wrap them in a very large cellophane bag, and cinch it at the top with a bow, so it is very portable to take to their bridal showers, etc.
