Jennifer Styles challenged her blog followers to create a one layer card inspired by the Pennsylvania Dutch hex symbols. I love the bright colours they use and folk art look of their symbols. I decided to try it as a Christmas card so created this.
I chose four Christmas symbols - snowflake, holly, stars, and cardinals - and used the three primary colours plus green for Christmas.
It was harder than it looks as there's no room for error on a one layer card. Also getting the spacing of the images right is challenging. I did a trial run on scrap paper first. Then tossed my first attempt because of smudging. Then tossed my second attempt because of poor spacing. This is my third attempt and it will have to do despite a wee bit of smudging!
It's also one of my cards for the SCS Christmas Card Challenge.
