This card is for the IC this week, Kirkland's; a great website, I've been to the actual store many times!
I was inspired by this painting "Spiced Canvas Sunset" It is the perfect background for a card I wanted to make today. My cousin, who I was very close to when I was growing up, has been admitted to a mental hospital suffering from bi-polar disease and is in a severe and dangerous depression. Her doctors are closely monitoring her and changing her meds daily to try to help her. She's an incredibly gifted writer, poet, and humanitarian and my heart is praying for her recovery. I hope you will too! Her name is Demetria, and there's a link on my blog if you'd like to read her biography and take a peek at some of her work.
The background was quick and easy to achieve. All I did was swipe "Autumn Leaves' Kaleidescope ink pad lightly across glossy cardstock. I embellished it with a couple of eyelets and stamped the image and sentiment.

Anne, I am sorry for your cousin. I will keep her in my prayers. Your card is beautiful I love the abstract look. Those colors are very pretty together.

I have several people in my life who struggle with the highs and lows of bi-polar disorder ... my heart goes out to both you and to your cousin ... what a beautiful and thoughtful inspired design.

What a beautiful card this is Anne. You've captured the feeling of the painting perfectly and the silhouette is a lovey addition! My heart goes out to you and your cousin, and I will keep you both in my thoughts!!

What a great background! It looks like it has so much texture, I was surprised to see it was on glossy cs!
