I thought I would show you the front of my Scrapbooking album that I painted myself. The design is from a Decorative painting book called "Strawberry Spring" by Shirley Wilson and Jean Myers (first published about 1988 and still available).
The album is made of pine wood which I stained using Clear Glaze medium with some added brown acrylic paint. Prior to the staining, I did need to add Tannin blocking sealer to some of the knotty sections of wood so that no tannins would leach out and spoil the painting. Once that had cured, I traced on my pattern then hand-painted the design using Jo Sonya Acrylic paints. After the design had "cured" (around 2 weeks), I varnished over it to protect it with water-based varnish.
Thanks for having a peek at my Scrapbooking album :-)

Wow! That's amazing! I've never seen a wooden scrapbook before -- I love its little hinges. And the design you painted on it looks fantastic! This book will certainly become a treasured heirloom in your family.
