This is my VERY FIRST entry for the House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge #89 which requires a card made from our favourite HM stamp. This was a very easy choice for me as this is the ONLY HM stamp I have to use, having been very kindly loaned to me my sweet Sister
Although I don't have any of my own I do love the images but have always figured that they would be too difficult to colour.
This year I have set myself a couple of personal challenges which along with improving my CAS style I am DETERMINED to knuckle down and improve my colouring. I get SOOOOO frustrated when my images look as though a pre-schooler has done them and as a result I get really disheartened.
However knowing that the best way to conquer your demons is to face them head on I WILL persevere! What's the worst that can happen? I can just chuck it in the bin and start all over again!
As you can see this layout is MEGA plain but I love the image so much I really felt it should be the star and not be surrounded by a stack of supporting cast embellishments. My second reason for doing this is that the image is so self explanatory I have left the "Get Well" sentiment to the insert in the card. Finally I did'nt want to start sticking flowers, ribbon etc on as this way it feels more unisex and I could comfortably give it to a Mr as well as a Mrs!
I am relatively pleased with how it has turned out and I am REALLY loving using Glossy Accents at the moment (again on loan from the same DS!) and although you may not be able to tell from the pic I have coated the thermometer with it which "in the flesh" gives a fantastically real effect
Apologies for boring you all to death but SCS is the only crafty group I "belong" to so any comments good or bad mean more thabn you know! It' helps to know that I am not crafting in a vacuum!
Have a wonderfully crafty weekend and THANK YOU SO MUCH for having taken the time to stop by x

I am a previous House Mouse Design Team member (Curt) and I wanted to tell you that I think you did a great job on coloring this one. I was afraid of them too, but kept practicing and now they are my favorite images to color. Great job and keep practicing! Best, Curt

House Mouse images were so daunting to color when I first started buying them long ago, but I kept at it, and as Curt says, they truly are my favorite images to color! Thanks to your Sister for getting you started! I hope you can borrow more and come join us again! Thanks for sharing with us at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge!
