This technique is very easy with beautiful results. Change my card up a little...didn't use any cs in the quilting, it's all dsp. I did find it easier to use a 3/4" punch rather than trying to cut the paper.
I layed my design out on the graph paper and then using a second piece started adhering the squares beginning with the center block and worked my way out. It seemed easier for me that way.

Oooo... this is BEAUTIFUL!! I don't have a 3/4" punch... wish I did, cause it is a LOT easier... believe I know!! It's a lot to cut, but WORTH it, I think!
