Hi! I made this card for todays color challenge: river gray whisper. Well, this was indeed a challenge for me, and I think I failed miserably! I dutifully stamped my images on whisper white cs in basic gray (off stamped x1) and river rock, creating a collage. Tore & distressed the edges, mounting it on a scrap of basic gray where I had stamped a crackle background and tore/distressed the edges.
I added a pewter eyelet and sentiment in basic gray on the ww card base. It looked so BLAH!! I just had to add some color to the main collage image. So I added pink pirouette to the flowers, so saffron to the butterflies, baja breeze to the eggs and certainly celery to the leaves. I then blended the images, using a blender pen and then distressed and aged with sandpaper and tan chalk. I think it now looks muted but ok.
TFL and have a colorful day!!

I think your extra touches of color turned out like a soft washed water color, and it's a lovely collage effect. I've never been successful at collages, even though I really admire them when other people do them! Love that crackle bg too, it's perfect for the distressed, aged look.

Hi Gail!! I like your bg crackle and the distressing you did to your card. It looks like you are having a lot of fun with that stamp set. I ordered one too. My favorite is still the one with the butterfly in the cage. :>)

I think you can be excused for adding some color, Gail! I love the results!
