Hi. This card was made for todayÂ’s Color Combo Challenge: Suede, Red and Purple. I used Tim Holtz designer papers for the Red and the Purple and used MFPÂ’s Wowza Watercolor and Chipboard for the neutral and the Suede.
IÂ’m trying to keep busy this evening because for some reason my mind is going 100 miles a minute and I canÂ’t get a hold on it. So, IÂ’ve found that stamping helps.
I saw these colors and laughed like a maniac because these are Red Hat colors...That's right! And, frankly, I'm a Pink Hatter, (I'm only 44), and I currently don't participate in the outings because I'm just too busy! Heck, the ladies I KNOW who SHOULD be participating are WORKING! LOL
So, I thought about my stamps and smiled when I thought about the Pansies! Heck, most people think of Purple Pansies, right? Then, I colored the leaves with several brownish/greenish Copics and that part was almost finished. I ran that colored panel through my Big Shot with a new Texture Folder called Plaid. LOVE IT!
Next, I decided that I don't see BIG ovals turned THIS way on 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cards. (They are usually at turned the other direction.)
I wanted to use this new ribbon and 3 pearl pin, so I had to turn it to the side to make it fit. (A couple of glue dots will keep the ribbon and pin in place. I'll bend the ribbon around the card to mail it.)
The bunny, was stamped in Adirondack's Espresso. I took a BLACK Copic marker and colored in his eyes a bit. This makes them stand out. Then, I went over the "lines" of the bunny's face and body with different Copic Markers to get a few highlights. He was cut out and popped on the oval.
Hope you like this one...
Finished card size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Total time to complete: 39 minutes

Faith, I love this card!! Your coloring is so vivid and I love how you combined these challenging colors! I didn't even think about the red hatters using these colors, but it will be interesting to see if any hats show up for the challenge! :-)

We used to have a rabbit just like this - the lop ears and all....which appeared on our lawn one day after our kids had prayed for a pet (no jive).....and it's name was Precious. Your card is just that,,,,,,PRECIOUS. LOVE it!~
