Hi! This card was made for todayÂ’s Ways to Use it Challenge: Frame It, and this weekÂ’s StampinÂ’ BÂ’s Challenge to make a Thanksgiving card with Pumpkins and Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge to use a Die Cut. (I used a square nestie for the focal panel.
I’m finally getting back in the stamping “groove.” I can’t tell you how nice it is to have the time and the energy to create! Mother is at home, getting lots of use of her hospital bed that now occupies the guest bedroom of her home. She said the only thing she misses is having her dogs sleep with her. But, considering they are PIT BULLS, I’m glad they can’t hop up there with her. As it was, the female used to take up ¾ of her queen size bed! Poor Mother had to “hug” the edge!
I decided to use the checked strip from Snowman Country to create the frame. First, I stamped 4 strips and cut them out. Next, I cut out the nestie for the focal image. I adhered the focal image to the Deepest Mahogany square and used a tape runner to adhere each of the strips. Then, I cut down the strips to create the frame! It was SUPER easy!
The scene was sponged in with Distress inks. The wheat was stamped and off-stamped repeatedly to create a field. I stamped the pumpkins on a separate piece of Wowza Watercolor Paper and colored with Copics. I sponged over the edges with AdirondackÂ’s Espresso.
Finished card size: 5 ½” square
Total time to complete: 41 minutes
