This week, Mother Mark got the teapot gals invited to a NASCAR race. You can read the details here: MMTPT117 ~ DID THE FLAGGER JUST STAGGER? I THINK THAT'S MICK JAGGER! by Mothermark at Splitcoaststampers
There's just one catch -- we can't bring flowers or anything girly. Mother Mark is asking us the bring fast things, and somehow I don't think an old VW bus qualifies for that. But while it's not a good racing car, it's a great camping-in-the infield vehicle, right? And afterwards, how about a surfing safari (OK, I kind of overlooked the "we're going to the Brickyard" part and thought Daytona, followed by the beach, would be a good trip).
Bus is a digi stamp, which I paper pieced in a non-girly check (otherwise I would have used a hippy flower print). There is sparkle pen adding a little shine to the hubcaps and windows. Windows and surfboard also coated with Diamond Glaze for a glassy effect.
I had real trouble with size on this. First off, I just eyeballed the digistampwhen resizing it, and by the time I realized it was almost as big as the card, I'd already done the paper piecing and forged on. Then the sentiment I wanted to used ended up being too big. I used part of it (Attitude) on the front, and the whole sentiment inside, where it says "Attitude is Everything."

Some of the girls were piling up bricks trying to make a table to serve our tea from but we'll just hang out in this Teaparty Racing Motor Home Surfboard Carrier with Sparkley Wheels and a Plaid Paint Job thingy with an Attitude! Whoo hoo! You da man bringing this to the race!
So good to see you Sandy! Its been awhile and we missed you! But you saved the day at this teaparty! Somewhere to call home while on the Teaparty Road! Woot!

Great image. Glad we're heading to the beach after the race. We may need to clear out some of the smoke, dust & noise & replace it with the peace & tranquility of the ocean.

That van reminds me of one my dad use to own in the 70s, except his didn't have the houndstooth pattern which is really cool! Definitely a hippie-type vehicle from those days. Terrific card, Sandy, and great idea to bring a camping vehicle in case too many of the tea partiers get outta hand...especially that goofy Mudder girl. :-)
