This is for the Holiday ATC swap here on the boards. I created a set of 5 cards that all used vintage photography negatives as the focal. My mother sent me these negatives in a vintage "care package" and I immediately knew that with a little embellishment, they would be perfect for Halloween. All the images are of a family from rural Kansas taken during the 1920's...I hope they don't mind the creative license I took!
For this card, I inked a piece of watercolor paper with distress inks and Walnut Ink, then adhered a small witch hat, a rusty (or bloody?) pair of scissors and the phrase "she was quite wicked". The negative layered on top of that and I positioned it so the girl's shadow was wearing the hat. To make the girl herself "pop", I used white gesso to color her in on the back of the negative. What do you think she intends to do with those scissors? (or what did she already do?)
