This is for the Holiday ATC swap here on the boards. I created a set of 5 cards that all used vintage photography negatives as the focal. My mother sent me these negatives in a vintage "care package" and I immediately knew that with a little embellishment, they would be perfect for Halloween. All the images are of a family from rural Kansas taken during the 1920's...I hope they don't mind the creative license I took!
For this card, I used distress ink and gel medium to create color and texture on a piece of watercolor paper, applied a gingham border, the word "Beware" and a transparent spider, and then layered the negative over it all. For a bit of dimension on the top layer, I added a "31" with an orange-stickled border.
I especially love the spookiness of the tree in the top left-hand corner...
