I tried Joan Ervin's wonderful lace sponging tutorial today: http://stampingwithapassion.blogspot...llenge-on.html Joan said you could use lace or a punched border. No, I could not find one tiny bit of lace and saw a doily and decided to try it. I placed it in my corner and sponged. I think it makes a nice corner.
My card is for these four challenges:
Technique Lover's Challenge 290 (I think a wk. and a half late)
JustRite:http://justritestampers.typepad.com/ to use red, black, and ivory and to make your own embellishment using die cute, crochet flower, etc.
I am using a die cut and sponged my corner. Challenge #036
Just Us Girls-Color Challenge:http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/ Use green, red, black, and a neutral. My green is the leaves in the poinsettia given to me in a RAK from Pam124, Thanks, Pam. Also the mistletoe. Challenge (challenge#51)
Paper: SU Cherry Cobbler, SU Very Vanilla, unknown dp, black cs from Hobby Lobby
Ink: Staz On jet black, Memento Desert Sand for sponging
Accessories: Spellbinders Fleur Di Lis, Spellbinder's circle and circle scallop nesties, poinsettia in RAK from Pam124, doily for sponging, Tombow markers

Benz, if it weren't for that GORGEOUS flower treatment, I don't know . . . Just kidding! I happen to be a huge (not in weight) fan of using black on a card as it makes everything pop. You used it beautifully with the Cherry Cobbler and vanilla. Cherry Cobbler is one of my new fave SU colors. I love your JR image too. Great job and look at those challenges. You're leaving me behind in the dust!! TFS!

I am going to have to try that lace sponging - looks awesome on this beautiful card. Great colors - I guess I will have to break down and get some cherry cobbler papers since you and Pamzi love it.

Benzi I just love your clever and unique way of using the Fleur di les pendant on the bottom of your card. The center focal point is just darling. So attractive and lovely!
