The cupboard was painted with black acrylic and varnished to get a laquered effect. Before varnishing, the door panels were stamped with a cherry blossom stamp and heat embossed with gold powder. Japanese papers were used to line the inside of the cupboard. I love Japanese designs because they are so distinctive and the papers are absolutely exquisite (and expensive!). I am thinking of using this little cupboard for my earrings and I am just working out how to hang them.

Very pretty. I have a Japanese aunt ( by marriage ) and I love her. She lost my uncle after 51 years of marriage. So I keep in close contact with her and I love making oriental things for her. This is great art! TFS.
