This is the card my family sent to my mother-in-law, who is celebrating her birthday today. I wanted to try the ruffled ribbon technique I've seen online (Ashley Newell has a great video on YouTube), but because I was mailing the card, I didn't want the ribbon to be too puffy. I used quite a few glue dots to keep it stuck down, lol. I guess that gives my ribbon more of a pleated effect than ruffled, but for my first attempt at this technique, I thought it turned out all right.

I think your ruffles are perfect...especially for mailing which always poses a problem with 3-D cards. Your mother-in-law will love it, I'm sure!
