Hi! This card was made for today's Clean And Simple Challenge: Jen's signature colors: blue, celery and dark orange AND...I used the Pounded Flowers Technique for the back panel for today's Technique Lovers Challenge, AND....It fits this week's Stampin' B's Challenge: Summer card.
First...I had to sneak out into my garden at 12:20AM and was scared to death by an opossum. Did you know that they HISS??? OMGosh! I grabbed a bunch of jasmine leaves and flew back in the house! I was so scared! The dogs were carrying on, I was screaming, and the cats went nutty! They all headed for the DOG's KENNEL!!! I'm totally serious! It was filled with 6 shivering freaked out cats! I had to laugh, because, if I TRIED to get them in there...well, you can imagine the chaos.
The background (Pounded Flowers) was made by making a piece of watercolor paper wet. (I ran my piece under the bathroom faucet.) Next, I placed it on the cutting platform and put the leaves all over it. I used a paper towel, folded 3 times, as a blotter. Next, I placed the next plate on top and ran it through the machine. I let it sit a few minutes and then ran it through the machine to cut it with the Spellbinders die. And, luck would have it, it was CELERY! LOL I added the cracked background for texture.
The butterfly was cut out and colored in with Memento Markers. I added in the Inkssentials dots.
Finished card size: 4 3/4" square
Total time to complete: about 48 minutes..if you count the opossum episode and the after effects.

Gorgeous, Faith! But, the opossum has to be better than the bear...story in the forum. Yikes! What we cardmakers won't go against for a challenge.
