With all the soft pink and green on the site it is hard to say one particular item inspired my card but this pillow pattern did remind me of the cardstock I used and the pink and greenÂ…well it was everywhere and very pretty.
I donÂ’t have religious images because the charity work I make cards for ask that we not send them so I had to come up with an idea for a christening card and hereÂ’s what I did and I do hope you can follow these directions:
-I measured and marked with pencil from all sides of the cardstock then used the markings as a guide and used the slot punch to create four openings.
-I punched two small buckle punches and fed the ribbon through each one and adjusted the ribbon and buckle to the slot punch openings.
-Fed the ribbon through the slot punch openings and secured it with tape between the opening and the cardstock edge so the slot is hidden from view.
-The two buckles were glued to each other and the bottom one glued to the cardstock.
-I assemble the flower pieces and glue it to the top buckle.
-The gems and pearls are attached with Diamond Glaze (any lacquer product will work). To make the process fast and easy I squeeze a drop of lacquer onto a waxed paper (I repurpose the paper that stickers and labels are purchased on), touch the end of a large corsage pin to the lacquer then to the back of the gem which picks it up, position it on the image and press down with a finger, there is a little time to slide the gem into position if needed before it sticks tight.
-Since this will be hand delivered I used cardstock to decorate the envelope and kept it very simple.
If you'd like to view the gown I made that prompted this card creation and the adorable little darling that wore it you can view it here on my blog
