I know this isn't my "typical" Midnight Madness card, but I just had to try something a little out of my comfort zone - a summer beachy card!! It's for a waitress who waits on my family Friday nights and she's been sunburned the past 2 weeks. Since it is her b-day this week, thought I'd give her some suntan lotion and this card to go with it.
I'm not usually into bold bright colors, but for a summer beach card, I thought I kind of had to. I received all the images from Peggy Sue in a RAK. Thanks Peggy-Sue!! I did add lots of embossing, paper piercing, fiber and crystal effects to take it up a notch since it is a Midnight Madness sketch challenge.
If you'd like to join the fun and enter the challenge yourself, please look here:
They have an intricate sketch with an alternate more CAS sketch if you prefer. They have wonderful prizes and awesome designer cards.
This is a 5.25 x. 5.25 card and the first panel, the red scallop image panel, flip flops, sun and sentiment are all popped up on dimensionals. The image itself was stamped twice and popped up on top of each other. I used crystal effects on the whole image, including framing and flip flops to give it a shiny look.
Thanks so much for taking the time to look and have a great evening.
Punchkateer Tally: 2 nesties, 2 circle punches, 1 word window punch and lots of holes punched for paper piercing. I should be able to fit into this bikini after all that there punching, right? NOT!!!

OK, when you consider that it sn**ed all day yesterday where I am, it's a little hard to think about the beach. Sure Pamzi my Fruitflake Friend, you can tell us this is for a waitress that you know - we know it's really a chance for you to show off your spankin' new summer bathing suit. You'll be a hot number on the beach in this number chickie! Love all the embossing and crystal effects. Ahem, you forgot to put the thread in your sewing machine, AGAIN! And I see by your photo shoot you've become a flower child now. How groovy! Peace out...! RYPH

Yikes, you really did outside that good ole comfort zone on this one! Plus, I cant remember ever seeing one of your cards with embossing and certainly none with flip flops! Oh dear, did you get off target today. You know the target I'm talking about! Well, despite that, you still managed to create a definitely beachy card for your waitress. Adding the sun tan lotion will surely bring a laugh to the table. Hope she doesnt spill the beans, shall I say as in baked beans. I really like your card. Once you get back on track, you may want to consider doing more fun cards!

What a fun card and present to give your waitress! You are so thoughtful. When I saw this was one of your cards, I said to myself - wow that is sure a bright Pam card! But you were right in choosing these colors - they are perfect for this card and the occasion. Now, if you really could fit in this suit after using those punches, can you please right down in super detail exactly which punches and in what order and amount you used them so I can run out and buy them and do them too?

Pamzi, I love, love this card! I am such a beach person. Where did you get my bikini???? LOL I love those cute, little flip flops and the bright sunshine (which we have none of right now). Pretty fibers. I bet the waitress is going to be surprised and will be tickled pink (well, I guess she is already pink) to get this fun card, along with the lotion. Ouch! That sunburn hurts!! Love your card.

Wow! It is so sweet of you to give that waitress this card and the sunscreen! I know what you mean about going out of your comfort zone. I have a few summery stamps such as these, and I always think, "What do I do with them?" I like what you have done here. It looks like you spent lots of time on this beauty, and I hope your friend appreciates it.

Okay, now I'm going to be singing the itty bitty teeny weeny bikini song LOL! This is too cute! Love the crystal effects you used and all beach themed goodies. Long gone are my bikini days...sigh...LOL! As for the Swiss Dots, I agree with Benzi, there should be no deductions but rather extra punches added because each dot is "punched" out [snort].
