Somehow after all my clicking about the Crate&Barrel site, I wound up on the Land of Nod site without realizing it. Since they are connected I figured it would still be OK to count this as an IC234 card anyway. It appears that I may not have been the only one to have 'nodded off' while perusing the Crate&Barrel site so here it is...
Loved the little red roadster in the ride-on toys - I've included a pic in an inset rather than a link. Since my very first 'roadster' was a bright red Volkswagen Beetle (appropriately named Herbie - it even had gold letters on the driver's door) I was drawn down memory lane when I saw the shape of that cute little red toy. About the same time as I got my red VW, my cousin got a bright orange VW. It's her birthday next week so I figured this would be a cute card for her. The sentiment on the inside reads: "Or is it true that the memory is the first to go?!?"
I loved the fabulous punch art VW on Leeann Greff's (flowerbugnd1 on SCS) blog (here's the link) and had to give it a try. I added a little detailing to the hood and tires with an embossing stylus, added a steering wheel and used clear embossing powder to give the windshield a bit of shine. Used the clear circles from some Build-a-Brads for the headlights. Thanks for the wonderful pic and details Leeann!
The scenery is an actual photograph to which I applied a watercolour effect in my photo-editing program and printed on watercolour paper.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to get back to the IC gallery to comment tomorrow...
Punch tally: 7 different punches/total # of punches = 15 per car plus 2 for the sentiment plus four corners on the inside sentiment. Whew! But so much fun! And true to my ways, she'll get it after her birthday!! Go me!

Izzy, this is just FABULOUS!!! I am amazed by the details you included in these incredibly cute Beetles. I can just see you and your cuz riding side by side in these. And they look so much like your inspiration photo, too!! What a smart idea to print a watercolor-effects photo out on watercolor paper. I seriously thought you'd painted that yourself--until I read your description, LOL!! Oh, this is definitely my favorite card of the day today. Your cousin will just flip--what a fun memory you'll be giving her
