The CAS challenge this week is the DT challenge. The task? Use a person, group or character and make that the focal image. Add a little splash of ribbon and texture.
I love this image from Dream Gardens, so decided to use this as my focal image. I wanted to make her pop so used Real Red classic ink for the image and Real Red and Basic Black thin matt layers beneath.
I mounted the red layer onto the card base using dimensionals to create a shadow.
For the ribbon, I took a piece of Whisper White satin ribbon and stamped one of the images from the set onto the ribbon using Real Red classic ink. This image has the crane image, so perfectly echoes the crane in her kimono. I wanted the ribbon to not draw away from the focal image, so I thought tying the two together and creating a softer color would help achieve that.
The texture? I ran my card through the Big Shot with my polka dot embossing folder and embossed only the bottom half of the card.
The dots in the embossing folder echo the dots on the kimono and the two round pearls on her fan and on her hair piece.
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look.

Ooh, this is gorgeous! I LOVE the stamp, and you made a wonderful card with it! Your framing (that's what I call CAS layers! LOL!) really sets the image off perfectly! TFS!
