Congrats to Michelle! One of the reasons I love the FS challenge is that I'm able to visit galleries I might have missed. So while this was my first visit to Michelle's gallery, it won't be the last! For my case, I chose her RockinÂ’ Sketch. I kept the masculine theme and silhouette image but I changed most everything else.
All images are DRS Designs. This time of year, I am always in need of masculine birthday cards. And I love this silhouette golfer image. If you look closely, you should be able to see that even when using a silhouette image, you are still able to add a little highlighting or shading to make the image look more life like.
I started this golf scene by stamping the trees with pine ink then masking off the hills and sponging in the ground and sky. I stamped the golfer and the flag and added shadows to the ground with markers and more sponging. I drew in the golf ball on the tee. For the golfer, after I stamped him with black ink, I quickly added highlights using a Copic blender pen. Since I used permanent ink, I had to do this immediately before the ink was completely dry. The blender allowed me to remove a little of the ink. I added some shading with a black maker. The sentiment was split up and stamped on top.
The blue background is the backside of a Swiss dot embossed piece and I used a dk blue marker to color the dimples. Three faux brads were added to the right corner. I have a new Faux Brad Tutorial if you'd like to learn more.
Thanks so much for looking!

Oh, wow! This is just an awesome masculine birthday card. Those are so challenging to most of us. This image rocks and your sky and the greens are done to perfection. Great inspiration for us.
