This card meets several challenges:
- SC277 Sketch Challenge
- ssnotime135 - use purples, lavender, browns, ivory
- WT267 - mixing patterns
I made my own designer paper, with different patterns. (making your own dp is another challenge I've already fulfilled; I didn't want to go overboard on this one and add that challenge too!)
I made the sketch facing left and facing right, and don't know which I like better. The reason I did it was to cover "mistakes": when using the French Script background stamp, it is not wide enough to cover a horizontal card like this. So, I had to try to match up the Script stamp to bring it across the entire card. Well, I'm not perfect with that, and it looked funny to me. So, I changed up the sketch to cover those boo-boos.
I used a general sentiment, "For You", from the Vintage Labels set, to cover a gamut of occasions.
Which direction do like best?

Wow! You've really combined these challenges brilliantly, Colleen! I love the dp you made with your stamps - so pretty. I love lilcas/purples and am really sorry to see that SU is retiring just about all of them.

Colleen, I just LOVE the great DP that you stamped!! (I often have to do this myself, although I'm starting to get a larger collection of printed DP. Can't justify too large of an investment in patterned papers!!). Both cards are great, but I'm partial to this one with the bird on the left. I've never forgotten the design rule I learned in high school journalism when making up page layouts: an image should always draw your eye into the page, so with anything that faces or points, it should point into, not off, the page. So, that decides it for me!!!
