Hi! This card was made for today's Way to Use It Challenge: Mixing Patterns and today's Stampin' B's Challenge: use yellow, white, mint or soft blue on a card.
The color challenge seems perfect for this Sneak Peek of this set: Tropical Vacation. I do not like the beach. I hate sand, and being stung by jellyfish, eatting SAND, and getting bitten by sharks, etc. However, I love the peaceful feeling of LOOKING at the ocean at sunrise from the inside of my car. When my oldest was a baby, I used to drive out to the beach, (then it was a 25 minute drive, now it's only 8!), watch the sun rise and turn the car around and head home to start my very hectic day. I never got out of the car! It was a wonderful hour that I got to spend driving and sitting. No one to bother me, no crying baby, no schedule, just drive and sit. Oh, and blare the radio so loud that I had to shout the words to the songs on the tape deck! (Yep, no CD's or MP3 players yet! LOL)
I used 2 different Basic Gray Patterned Papers and stamped the leaves on the panel with Adirondack Espresso. Next, I sponged it with Waterlily Green and Nude INK for the Yellow and Mint. The focal image was stamped in Espresso and I sponged in Nude INK and Waterlily Green. ( I sponged the waterlily ever so lightly, to get the mint color.)
I also used 2 different patterned brads.
Finished card size: 5" square
Total time to complete: 39 minutes.

Beautiful, and believe me, I had rather be there on the beach than where I have been this morning....doing yard work. This scene is fantabulous!!
