I finally broke down and bought the Vintage Picnic set from PTI--why did I wait so long? Every image is so gosh-darn cute!
I really ran with the "picnic" theme for this Mojo sketch, from the bright yellow "sun" and green "grass" with a wonderful red blanket laid out! (and, um, I guess we'll be reading a book at our picnic? Because nothing is better than having a full belly, a nice breeze, and good book!) All the papers are from October Afternoon's Farm Fresh paper pack, and distressed with Colorbox Creamy Brown.
I did a pretty clever trick to attach the ribbon--since it was going to be behind the circle anyway, I cut it into two pieces and attached the ends behind the yellow and green papers. After I sewed around the entire card, I pulled the free ends over the sewing and attached to the front. The Janome did just fine sewing through the 2 layers of paper + ribbon.
I stamped the image on Gina K ivory cardstock and colored with copics (Y17, YG03, E35 and E37), using a white gel pen for the daisy petals. The Verve sentiment was stamped with SU Ruby Red.
I sewed an ivory panel to the inside, and stamped one corner with the smaller flower embellishment from the picnic set.
Now who is ready for a nice picnic in the park?
