For today's Ways to Use It Challenge, WT264: Sweet Child, to use a sweet child image in your card. And since I couldn't play the CAS challenge on Monday, this is also for CAS60, a sketch challenge inspired by this card: Embrace Life by PaperInBloom at Splitcoaststampers
The sweet child image was definitely a challenge for me. If you've ever cruised my gallery, you may have noticed that I don't have much of a defined style (best described as "eclectic," I'd say--I'm all over the place), but I'd say that "sweet child" is not really my *style*, such as it is!! I guess with a 7YO and an 11YO of my own, I've got just about all of the "sweetness" I can handle!! I can count on a single hand the number of "sweet child" images I own. But I do have this adorable little guy from the SU Very Thankful set, so I pulled him out to use today and colored him using the gamsol magic technique with colored pencils.
My kids will need to write a few thank you notes this weekend for Easter gifts and cards they've received this week. So I this will be perfect for them to use. I love the bright child-like colors and great detail in the Basic Grey June Bug DP.
Thanks for stopping by!
Emily

Emily - it's cute! He is a cute little fellow. Perfect for your kids to send those thank you notes! I know what you mean about having "kid" images in your stash; I don't have many either. I just don't gravitate toward them.
I like how you layered those ovals, kind of like a shadow behind them.

How cute, Emily! Andf kudos to you for instilling the "good manners" of sending thank-yous in your children. It has become a "lost art".....sadly. Off my soapbox now! : )
I love the "stick quality" of the boy characters and the fun paper, details and font you have used with them.

Emily, this is really cute! I love this image, and putting the three of them on the dark ovals was a great idea! The bg dp is wonderful!! No sweet kid images????? SCS has enough challenges that you should consider getting ONE of EVERYTHING........and then another house to put it in!!! LOL! I see the SUN!! WOW!

Emily, the latest punchkateer..how cute this will be for thank you notes. Eclectic is exactly what I told Pam I am when she said she just couldn't get a handle on what I like. Like to keep her guessing. Keeps her in a stew. LOL
Your card is just adorable! Oh, I had to go back and count how many punches you used. You know...that requirement. ;)

Oh, I forgot about this one!! I was trying to go all SU but didn't think I had any current kid images. This is so sweet and adorable, Emily! I love the layout of three images, it is so pleasing and perfectly balanced. I always buy three of each plant for my garden too. It always looks just right somehow.
Beautiful job on today's challenge!

Very cute Emzi... Ya did good. And plenty of punching to keep you in good graces with those pushy Punchkateers who scold you if you make a card without any punching on it. Trust me, I know. Sweet child is not my style either so if I can find my way into my Rubber Room today I'll likely stick to something Eastery. Time's rapdily running out for that theme! Raise yer punchez high!
