My inspiration came form a couples outfits linked here.
Great idea for a challenge ladies!
-Stamping the image:
The poppy image is a solid rubber image with open areas for the flowers. First a tip on inking the rubber: I load a brayer with ink then run it over the solid image several times and repeat this process several times; this helps distribute the ink evenly and avoid a blotchy image.
I inked up the rubber with the marigold ink and stamped, before picking up the image I made sure my stamp positioner was very snug to the acrylic block. Cleaned the rubber image, sponged the lipstick ink to partially cover the rubber and stamped a second time.
-I colored with stems and shaded the poppies using Prismacolor pencils, baby oil and paper stumps.
-The butterfly is also colored with Prismacolor pencils then cut out. I ran a black marker along the edge to cover all the white and glued it to the card by applying glue only to the antennae and body, nothing on the wings.
If cutting the antennae is to difficult for you the other option is to stamp only that portion of the image on the card and line the cut out butterfly up to the antennae.
-I always use an A2 sized envelope for my square cards because postage is higher for square envelopes. I cut a piece of junk cardstock 4.25 x 5.5”, dot some glue about ¼” from each edge and tuck it in the envelope so the glue sticks to the front of the card. Then the card tucks in between the envelope front and the cardstock and doesn’t shift around during the travel time and saved me some money!
Tools: Stampin Up mat pack, Bazzill piercer, sponge, stamp positioner, paper stumps, cutting scissors
