This card is for today's Color Challenge (CC256) to use basic gray, bravo burgundy, and crushed curry, with the dessert option of using text.
Last week I purchased an older set of SU Stampin' Pastels on eBay and they arrived in yesterday's mail. I have just a very limited supply of SU inks, so I was really excited to have an expanded collection of SU colors and couldn't wait for today's color challenge to try them out!! I have to say that this set of colors really pushed me out of my comfort zone
I had to substitute (retired) SU baroque burgundy and SU summer sun (through my new set of pastels) for the bravo burgundy and crushed curry. I used the only gray card stock I have in my stash and some darker gray chipboard in place of basic gray.
I created the main panel of my card using a combination of the poppin' pastels and stampin' pastels technique and an image from the SU Botanical Blooms set. For dessert: the panel of text is the definition of "dream" stamped in charcoal. This is a stamp from the retired set Well-Defined Backgrounds by The Angel Company. I tied a length of burgundy embroidery floss (unfortunately it looks awfully dark in the photo, more brown than burgundy. Really--in real life, it complements nicely!) around the card and tied it through a white button. Done!
This is the first time I've worked with pastels and I really had fun trying them out. I'm so excited to have so many more colors in my tool kit now!!
Thanks, Betty, for stretching me with this challenge!!
Thanks for visiting,
Emily

I like the softness of your card. I love the dream text you have on the side and then the word dream for your sentiment. The floss and the button are a nice touch too. TFS
