OMG! I can't believe it! I am doing a challenge and its my favorite one. I have been so busy with other projects, finishing up a quilt I am doing for our church auction. I also been busy with my boys who have been out of school the last couple of days due to our wonderful snow/ice storm. Tomorrow we are going sledding!
I knew I wanted to play the Inspiration Challenge tonight because it fit perfect for me. I just made a friend a gift out of fabrics (wish I could share, but she will see it on here)...maybe she will post it once she receives it. Anyhow, we were to pick something to create from the Espe store...and this is what I picked http://www.espe.ca/eshop/shpwndw_det...?cat=H&r=3&c=3. It's similiar to what I made and it will go along with the gift.
I started out by following the great tutorial by Angie from Chic'n Scratch here http://chicnscratch.typepad.com/chic...-tutorial.html. I changed my handles just a little bit. I eyeballed the shapes and glued them to the front and the back of the tote bag. I used the scor-pal, tacky tape, and scissors as followed. I added square brads to hold the handle together on each side. I used a small piece of tacky tape to hold the ribbon for the handle of the tote bag. This really was quick and easy to do, but I was helping my boys with their quilts they are making on the sewing machines. They will give them to the seniors that live across the street from us. It felt good to finally do a challenge and thanks Stef for always posting early. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend.
What do you think?

This is a cute tote, Bonnie, and I will get a card out to your mom, too, to celebrate her 85th birthday! My mom turns 92 in June, and I know how lucky I am to still have her around, and in such wonderful shape!

You and I were on the same page with making a purse instead of a card! I love the retro look of yours!! Lovely!! You asked if mine was a pattern - NO, it's just a standard sized card opening up upside down, and then I corner rounded it and added the ribbons and the latch just cutting a strip and the very bottom under the button flap is a tag punch. GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE AND STAY UP LATE TOGETHER!!!
