This, believe it or not, is my card for this week's MotherMark TPT challenge.
I thought and thought on the bus on the way into work this morning, and out to the dentist in the afternoon.
I had another idea, but I couldn't think of anyone more gossipy than Mrs Toucanella in Horton Hears a Who...
This is highly confidential; This is just between us two;
But Mrs. Toucanella told me, Horton's talking to a Who!
A Who?! Who's "a Who"?
Well, my dear, that's just the point! There isn't any Who.
Horton's brain is out of joint.
For goodness sake -- A Who?
Now, I know you won't repeat this; strictly entre nous;
Of course.
But Mrs. Tusic Toucanella is an unimpeachable source.
And she says irrefutably - it's indubitably a fact...
Horton's schizo-witsa-fistic. In other words, he's cracked!
He ought to be psycho-wangwalized!
Oh no. Psycho-o-analysis is too expensive for an elephant.
I nearly charge by the pound!
(Pssst, whisper) Mrs. Toucanella says... (pssst) Mrs. Toucanella said...
Undoubtedly, it all goes back to some heredity trait.
I've been reading quite a bit - about heredity of late.
[Chorus]:
And the Uncle of Horton's cousin was an elephant named Nate;
who had such grand illusions and confusions, aberrations and contusions...
-and he believed he was the father in law of Catherine the Great!
Mrs. Toucanella told me that he's giddy as a kid.
Mrs. Toucanella told me he's nitty as a mid
Horton's flipped his lid!
[Chorus]:
Mrs. Toucanella told me that he's manic and depressive,
retrogressive and recessive -- and progressively excessively, possessively, oppressively acquessive!
Mrs. Toucanella said that?!!
Well my dears, if that's the case - This neighborhood's degenerating into a most unwholsome place!
With demented elephants yet!
[All]: We're going to get away from here as fast as we can get!
Lyrics written by Dr. Seuss for the 1970 MGM cartoon of Horton Hears a Who.
Sorry I can't find more than thirty seconds as an audio clip - YouTube has failed me miserably.
So here she is, gossiping away. Horton was trying to merge into the grey brick wall, he forgot he was out in the forest trying to hear what the birds were saying about him, as well as the Who.
Business envelope card size, the branch and leaves are Basic Grey Grow-a-Garden and distress inks. The birds were stamped both on the base and on watercolour paper, where I coloured them with H2Os. Horton was stamped on white paper, the brick markings were done with a stylus before I stamped him. The Whos are hiding out in a little pink pompom. The meadow is the same as yesterday - the Daisy wheel, with Sakura Glaze pens and Liquid Pearls.

Love that elephant. Horton Hears a Who (the movie) is a favorite at my house whenever my granddaughter (21months old) comes to visit. So now she wants everything elephants!
