This challenge really brought out the artist in me, the squares are hand drawn using a 18ct Gold Leafing Pen. It is very hard to be precise with it - but in the end I LOVED the roughness of the squares as opposed to cleaner lines. Funny how you can accidentally fall upon something you really like isn't it?

Nice take on the inspiration scarf and great use of the leafing pen...I'd have take a few breaks before I'd get that checkerboard finished but I like the end result!

Fabulous card - I'm glad you like it too, 'cos like I said before you're too self-critical!! Amazing gold leaf, and the sentiment looks wonderful too. I bet this is even more striking irl.
