Mead is an alcoholic beverage, made from honey and water via fermentation with yeast. Its alcoholic content may range from that of a mild ale to that of a strong wine. It may be still, carbonated, or sparkling; it may be dry, semi-sweet, or sweet. Mead is often referred to as "honey wine."[1]
Now Hollis is on patrol looking for the bad bears, hopped up on mead. And he has Bertie as his back up, ready to wing pine cones at any BUI (Bear Under the Influence) Hollis means business too!
Sadly, he found some bad bears, some line dancing and another playing the fiddle, and they were BUI. Ok Bertie, go to work!
I hope the bears don't catch Hollis first- he is packin' a honey baked ham sandwich in the back of his britches! Ouch!
Hollis is from Art Impressions, and was masked and watercolored. The BUI's are from Rubber Stamp Shack, found here:

What a hoot! This card is precious. And binoculars yet! I am afraid he may find my bear....he still has not made it to the teaparty and I fear that while following his star he may have found a bad bear and was more than likely hoodwinked into drinking some of that mead. Because we all know my bear would not normally act that way. My mice do but don`t think my bear does. Beautiful mask work you did there and the embossed framing is lovely. But you always do gorgeous cards!! TFS

You have to go back to work tomorrow - bummer. DH is off till next Monday, and I'm not rostered till next Tuesday. Mind you, for me being a contract worker - no work is no pay.
Peggy had to check mead out this morning too - she tells me it's called hydromel in French, and she had it a wedding once. Must be why she encouraged Oscar to break into the store and drink it up! I love all your details in this, Pat - Hollis with his binoculars, the line-dancing bears (and especially the fiddle-playing one) and the wonderful embossed frame. Let's hope Bertie's cabin is big enough for us to have a bit of a barn-dance in later on, now that we've got a musician along. Ursa Major look a bit more like a rock act, not so good for dancing. At least, not any dancing I do!
Happy New Year to you.
Yikes, I wouldn't like to try pronouncing mead from your text . It's a nuisance that gallery comments don't like funny characters, I can't write proper French to Peggy.
Hollis looks pretty astonished at the line-dancing bears .

Wild and crazy gal meets Hollis! I just love your fiddler bear and line dancing ones also. Thank you Pat for coming to the party, but I thank you mostly for showing that bears can be like us humans; "very nutty". LOL
Love Hollis and your fantastic frame darling. Sad to see you go back to work...I can keep up the fort for you okay. Ouch!
TFS you Major Nut! You know I love you. And hey, you can bring back my case of honey wine now, the game is over. Can't believe you guys drank 24 bottles already! LOL

Finally, someone has answered my question about what the heck is mead. Honey wine? Do they sell such a thing here in California?.....Buttnik, I love your patrol man with the backward goggles looking for "bad" bears. I don't think he is going to find any especially if Bertie is his look out. heehee Love your forest too. Wonderful take on the teapot party.....btw, I was kidding about the backward goggles. heehee.....TFS :0)
