Check out the TPT challenge thread for Maureen's great rose teapot and story.
Country and Western - not quite my style of music though I am very happy to listen to Johnny Cash.
I brought a rose, a functional card and a quote from Michael W Smith's song *Above All*. The chorus is what I used on my card:
Crucified, laid behind a stone
You lived to die, rejected and alone.
Like a rose, trampled on the ground,
You took the fall and thought of me
Above all.
This is going to a friend in church - her husband had major heart surgery about 3 weeks ago, and he's been having a lot of trouble with low blood pressure and a racing heart-rate since. It's already done damage to his heart, so it's a difficult time for them.
5 3/4" base, covered with green Bazzill. Next layer is KI Memories Pop Culture, with some Stickles on some of the flowers. Main layer is Roses in Winter, cut outside the box using last week's TLC. I stamped the flower and leaves on some Little Sizzles paper from the Classics pad, and stamped the rose three more times. Cut, distressed the edges, curled up a bit, added Stickles and layered with foam.
The quote was printed (with a LOT of problems) on the computer and cut with Blossoms 1. Sponged the edges, stippled it a bit, added little gems and popped it up on foam along with the image panel.

I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's heart condition and the difficulties he and his wife are having, Sabrina. I'll be sure to keep them in my thoughts and prayers. It's such a lovely card from your heart.

Thanks so much coming to the tea party and bringing a FUNctional CARD! The rose and quote are just beautiful. I am sure your friend is going to love it! (I am not a fan of country music either, but a fan of Johnny!)

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design,
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
- The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I,
The flower God opens so sweetly,
In my hands would fade and die.
- I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
- So I'll trust Him for His leading
Each moment of every day
And I'll look to Him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.
- For the pathway that lies before me
My heavenly Father knows
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments
Just as He unfolds the rose.

I just thought I would share this poem I found that I am putting on the inside of my roses card. I love how you added the quote from that song. It is one of my favorites. I love the layers on your rose.
