I have been a huge fan of Raymond Briggs classic Christmas tale "The Snowman" ever since he first appeared roughly 30 years ago! (Yes it really is that long ago!)
Nothing reminds me more of blissful childhood Christmases with my dearest Sisters and wonderful Mum & Dad, So when I saw that a whole new papercrafting range had just been released, I HAD to have it! Even better is the fact that I got the whole collection as a "Freebie" simply for renewing my cardmaking mag subscription! The package included, Decoupage pad, 6x6 paper pad, brads, crystal brads, adhesive gems, ribbon, Chipboard stickers, adhesive stones and 4 sheets of stickers! A total value of approx $70!
Here is the first card I have made from the collection and I am pretty pleased with it. All I needed to supply was a design for the card, the blank card as a base and for matting and layering along with my much loved stickles glitter glues to highlight both the Snowman's nose (which in the story is made from a satsuma/tangerine - I used orange peel stickles!) and both his and James's eyes as well as his buttons which are made from lumps of coal - these were highlighted with Gunmetal stickles. Finally cotton candy stickles gives James his glowing cheeks!
I also used white "Splatter Mesh" (which I am REALLLLLY loving at the moment!) over the base paper and this gives it a very tactile dimension, as it not only looks more like actual snow but feels it too!
As you can see from the next picture I am posting, the insert of the card was made using one of the sheets from the 6x6 paper pad, onto which I used a rub-on Christmas greeting.
A really simple card, but soooo much fun to make! Especially for those who remain young at heart!
Thank you so much for taking a peek! x
