For Cindy's teaparty http://mothermark.blogspot.com/2009/...h-our-tea.html
We were to catch or bring 42000 pounds of fish. I don't know how we are doing with our numbers. I started thinking about fish today. and big fish. I thought if I got a fish that was as big as the fish in the Bible that swallowed Jonah, then we would only need one fish. I haven't seen one that big, but those Sturgeon fish are pretty big.
I made my big fish on a long skinny card. I took my Fiskars texture plate. I took a piece of rust colored dp. I used orange and red crayons to do a rubbing over the paper. I then drew my fish and cut him out. Added a wiggly eye. The fun came in when I tried to make my hook and fishing line. My boy scout son was trying to help my tie my knots. He was very critical saying that my hook didn't have a good barb, and that I would never catch any fish... well you never know. I punched a 3/4" circle out of cardstock and used the negative area as a template. I took glue and traced the area and added glitter to it and then added a couple of drops of glue and more glitter.

Oh sooo cute...Don't take the bait, fishy, don't do it! He's too cute to keep, throw him back, throw him back! I love the googly eye, and the knowing smile. He's just toying with us, see...he already gobbled up the worm, and we're out one fish out of 41,998...but secretly I'm happy, hee!

There you go again being Ms McGyver!!! Kelly said we were one fish short of our goal because one escaped-ded....But looks like your fish makes up the difference so I think we might be able to have some refreshments now....lots of cooks here today and many tea potters have already hit the tea!
I am a little concerned about the holding tank.....who was watching it, did they fall asleep on their watch only to wake up to the fishies all emerging back into the ocean....
Well, Marilynn, do we have anything to worry about??? Snuffs!!
