A year ago April 4th, my dear friend Sandy (who I call Ethel....long story) went into the hospital. After a very close call and 4 months in the hospital, she came home only to be told by her boyfriend that he couldn't stand taking care of her and she had to leave. So, unable to walk, confined to a wheel chair, she moved in with her Mom and Step Dad. Each day was a pure struggle for her and too hard for me to share here. Suffice it to say, she called me yesterday and in tears announced she had taken her first shower since she had been ill more than a year ago. So in celebration of that event AND her Birthday August 5th, I made this card. I got this image on the Hobby Lobby discount isle for one dollar! I colored it with copics and used Clear EP on the bubbles. I drew the shower head and colored it with copics too. The stamped background on the card base is also a discount stamp found at Hobby Lobby and was stamped using Bashful Blue. Martha Steward's scallop punch dresses up the bottom edge and I added a polka-dotted ribbon to ecko the bubbles. I think she'll love it. It may sound a bit odd to celebrate taking a shower but if you had been through what we have been through with her, you'd understand and join the celebration.

More power to her and you Phyllis to celebrate just a beautiful moment. What a beautiful person and friend you are to think of doing such a sweet thing for her. She will love it. I love it, and not only 'cause it's blue, but it is my favourite colour you know. TFS

Ethel- put your clothes on! Lol! Tater, I join your celebration for Sandy, remembering how we had prayed for her long before the hospital episode. I am so thankful she is at this point! Please give her a big hug from me. I'll be working on a bd card for her soon (of course you realize she could be another year older before she sees it!) I love how you have colored this sweet image and drawn in the shower head. Perfection! You'd da bestest sista! LYMI XXXOOO

I totally understand. I think my X left last December after 21 years because he just couldn't stand the thought of taking care of me after hip replacement surgery and needing the other hip replaced along with having R.A. It's OK though. I'm doing fine without him. I know how wonderful that first (stand-up) shower was after recovering from surgery, too! Congrats to Sandy and Happy Birthday, too!! It's very kind of you to put your creativity to work just for her! TFS!!!
