The Rubbernecker blog has a challenge where you are to be inspired by some purses and bags. I saw a particular bag that had flowers with dotted outlines, and that reminded me of this designer paper. So I pulled it out and tried to think of what to create with it.
It's kinda country-looking, so I went with the wood frame and a scene made with some Kittie Kits. (Yes, I stole these from my mother! LOL) I actually applied some distress crackle paint to the wood frame, and then distressed it even more with some dark brown ink as well as some white pigment ink. It looks appropriately "rustic" now, doesn't it? And to think it started off as mustard cardstock.....
The crochet flower matches the yellow in the paper, and I added a tiny brown button for the center. This pretty flower came from Paper Blooms. I'm not affiliated with either Rubbernecker nor Paper Blooms - just a happy customer.
Love the crackle paint used to make the frame rustic! I have been looking for ways to use my crackle paint and I think you just helped me find one! Thanks for posting!
