I took an art class today!! The base is paper towels sprayed with color mist and tissue literally rusted. All of the papers are layered on the wood with wax. The words are stamped on tissue and waxed onto the project. The metal was run through the cuttlebug and aged with black acrylic, then hammered on with tacks. The mask is pearl polymer with alcohol in one color--that is what it does on the hot clay! I can't wait to do this again.

The art teacher takes steel or iron plates (you can buy sheets at the craft stores or at the home improvement stores) and spray a half and half solution of white vinegar and water. then you lay the paper down on the metal and place like a cardboard on top. You can leave it outside in the elements and in a few hours (I think she said 24) you have beautifully rusted paper.
